Summer is over unfortunately, and what a great time we have had here at The Chambers, to brighten everyone’s mood I thought I would take a look back over the past few months and remember some of The Chambers summer highlights #bringbackthesun
We kicked off the Summer with a fabulous 50th birthday BBQ, the weather stayed dry and we had 70 guests enjoy a wonderful buffet and BBQ followed by an Irish band and dancing until the wee hours.
Then came the PA’s… mid July brought very hot weather to the city centre and seventy PAs to The Chambers for the PA Hub and Hays recruitment networking evening. We offered guests Prosecco or Pimms on arrival to cool them down which seemed to go down extremely well! It was a brilliant evening of speakers and stalls from Betty’s to East Coast Trains.
The Chambers Courtyard is the perfect host for a company party and this was exactly what our next clients needed, a company meeting hosted in the day followed by another Chambers BBQ with homemade burgers and gorgeous salads. To top the night off the Maurice Paynel suite was turned into a Salsa dancing master class!
July and August along with long hot summer days also brought record breaking occupancy levels :) Concerts and events such as Bruce Springsteen performing at the #Leedsarena boosted bookings! We were also extremely grateful to all our guests who posted reviews over the summer, some great words of encouragement and praise on TripAdvisor!
As you can see it’s been a busy and exciting few months, a summer to remember!
Summer is in full swing, and we are busier than ever at The Chambers.
The opening of Leeds Trinity Shopping centre and the Leeds First Direct Arena has enhanced the city even more with guest from all over the country coming to discover what Leeds has to offer.
People often ask us what is our secret, how did you become the number one place to stay in Leeds? It’s no secret, just the right ingredients mixed together with a fantastic team of hard working staff.
I thought I’d let you in and reveal our 5 top tips to The Chambers success:
- Underselling and over delivering- we believe in the power of the ‘wow factor’ there is no better service than giving the clients above and beyond what they expect. We always try to upgrade guests where possible to make their stay ‘extra’ special.
- We love what we do- Being a small team but perfectly formed, we are all passionate about The Chambers. Coming to work is a joy; we are like one big happy family!
- We are so proud of Yorkshire- Just like The Chambers it’s the best kept secret. We are so proud to be part of a thriving and exciting city, we are passionate about helping Leeds grow and expand. We know where to recommend to our guests and are always happy to point people in the right direction of the best restaurants, bars, and shopping centres.
- We are different- with more balconies than any other hotel in Leeds, total secure parking, a fabulous courtyard and a candle lit library, The Chambers definitely offers more than just a bed!
- Totally independent and family run- We pride ourselves in being a totally independent genuine family run business!
Now that you know our secret, word will get out and everyone will want to stay!

A lot has happened since the last time we posted… for a starter I’m now writing it, I’m Katie and I have taken over from Nicola on the events and marketing side of The Chambers. It has been a busy few weeks and lots of hard work but I finally feel settled and excited to see what’s in store!
We’ve been extremely busy as all the girls and staff will agree both for reservations and for meetings, we hosted a very successful bloggers event, Saturday and Sunday- feedback was great and we even got a shiny new review on Trip advisor about the meeting space! (Always nice to hear when our hard work pays off).
Last week was a week of meetings for new ventures with Christine securing a very exciting promotion with Harvey Nichols; watch this space for more details!
Thursday and Friday saw a great 2 day event organised with lots of cakes and pastries as well as an excellent buffet from Salts Catering:
Library full of treats
As you can see October is already shaping up to be a very active and exciting month, I’ll be posting every week with an update of what’s happened so you never miss a beat.
Here at The Chambers we host all sorts of events. Today is the start of a 2-day Leadership Workshop, with 10 delegates attending the sessions and staying overnight in our luxury apartments.
Unlike in large hotels, here at The Chambers Park Place the delegates have sole use of our meeting space – which means breakout areas in Reception and the Courtyard and lunch in the Library. Starting the day with sausage and bacon sandwiches, pastries and fresh fruit, the delegates use the space for group discussions and role plays. Tea and coffee is available for self-service at all times, and a hearty lunch served halfway through the day.
At the end of a busy day, we will be cooking up a barbecue for the delegates in the Courtyard, whilst they relax and chat over a beer or two. With all the delegates staying at Park Place overnight, there’s not far to go for a good sleep before starting it all again tomorrow!
For those workshops looking for a more formal approach, we can also arrange private dining in the Maurice Paynel Suite, with a wide menu choice.
If you are interested in booking a meeting or event at The Chambers, get in touch today! Special offers are currently available for events in July and August.

Hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend of celebrations. We decorated Reception and the Courtyard at 30 Park Place with flags and bunting, and welcomed guests who were enjoying a break in Leeds. It’s time to pack away the bunting now, but it will be out again soon ready for the Olympics!
Reception at Park Place for the Jubilee Weekend
We have had a busy few weeks at The Chambers, with May 2012 being our busiest month ever. From guests staying for one night, to long-term guests moving in for a few months and meetings and events galore, we have been kept on our toes!
Our hard work was all made worthwhile by this surprise gift from a company who use our serviced apartments and meeting room facilities at 30 Park Place on a regular basis: a bunch of flowers for all of the office staff! Thank you again for this wonderful treat!
Joanne, Christine and Karoline show off our beautiful flowers
Another exciting and unusual event took place in the Courtyard. We had the UK champion barbecue team here to rehearse their barbecuing in advance of the world championships in America. Using a slow-cook charcoal barbecue, they started cooking at 5am and served up the meat at 1pm. It was incredibly tender and juicy. Thanks for letting us try it – we think you should have won the world title!
If you have an event to plan, whether it’s a bit out of the ordinary or completely run-of-the mill, why not get in touch? The Chambers is the perfect location for your Olympic-themed meetings and events with 2 large screen TVs, the aforementioned bunting decorations and our exclusive outdoor space for sunny days. Our gas barbecue is available for meetings and events, with prices starting at just £10 per head.

The Easter holidays are fast approaching and you might be thinking about having a break with the family or spending a few days away with your loved one. At The Chambers, we are running a special Easter Offer for the two week school holiday period (31st March – 15th April) including the Bank Holiday weekend. Book any of our one bedroom apartments at The Chambers Park Place for only £99 including VAT per night, saving up to £69 per night.
Things to do whilst you’re in Leeds
There are fantastic shopping opportunities right on your doorstep, with the main shopping area just 5 minutes’ walk from The Chambers Park Place. Whilst every apartment has its own kitchen for cooking up gourmet delights, there is also a huge array of restaurants if you fancy an evening out. We recommend Primo for authentic Italian food in a cosy atmosphere, Chaophraya for a bustling atmosphere and great Thai food, or La Grillade for a fantastic steak.
Leeds Museum is a great place to visit with children, with exhibitions changing regularly and lots to see and do. Have a look at the Leeds City Council Museums and Galleries to read about Easter Holiday events at the Leeds Museum and nearby galleries.
You could even learn something new during your trip! Leeds College of Art are running a series of 3-day short courses including jewellery-making, millinery and drawing. Why not combine your holiday with trying out a new skill?
Whatever you decide to do this Easter, we’d love you to spend it with us!

Spring has sprung in Leeds! We are having a lovely sunny day and getting ready for our weekend visitors. There are a few special occasions being celebrated at The Chambers this weekend. We’ve had 2 bouquets delivered, a beautifully wrapped birthday present and a bunch of balloons – so we’re expecting 4 happy guests to check in later today for their weekend treat.
We love getting comments in our Guest Book and we all read it every day. If you are coming to stay with us, please write something when you check out!
