Are you currently planning your next stay in Leeds? If you are, here are just a few of the things that you should do while you are here.
If you are visiting Leeds, you have to taste the cuisine on offer across the city. In 2019, Leeds was tied with Newcastle for the city with the biggest rise in independent restaurant openings in the UK. That means there are plenty of fantastic places offering a bite to eat, no matter the type of food that you are looking for.
Whether you want something for breakfast, lunch or dinner, there’s a restaurant or a beautiful cafe for you. Fancy a sweet treat? Why not visit some of the artistic cafes offering cake and a wide range of other sweet treats, such as Layne’s Espresso and Le Chalet?
If you’d like to sink your teeth into some Michelin Guide food, there are multiple restaurants you can visit in Leeds and enjoy a meal at, such as Ox Club, Bundobust and The Man Behind The Curtain.
One of the best things about stopping in Leeds is that you are never too far from the countryside. Easy access to the wonderful countryside is something that the majority of large cities cannot boast, but the beautiful Yorkshire Dales are only a short journey from the Leeds city centre.
When you leave the city to explore the local area, there are plenty of explorable areas, from eye-catching valleys to homely villages. If you have access to a vehicle such as a bike or a car, explore the countryside on offer near Leeds and enjoy the fresh air and peaceful rustic experience.
If you are a big fan of live music, Leeds has a vibrant music scene that can be enjoyed by all music fans. If you enjoy watching international stars, more big acts are visiting Leeds than ever before due to the First Direct Arena. Upcoming acts include Cher, Little Mix, Rod Stewart and Elton John, so there are plenty of shows to enjoy.
You don’t have to be a fan of mega-famous music artists to enjoy a music-filled show in Leeds. Leeds is also home to the 02 Academy, which has previously hosted Zara Larsson, Dua Lipa and Anne Marie, and the Belgrave Music Hall.
With a variety of music acts from all over the world performing in Leeds on a regular basis, there really is a music gig for everyone taking place in the city.
